Edgbaston Mill proves a hit with home buyers
Home buyers have been bowled over at the launch of the new residential element of the £100 million Edgbaston Mill scheme, Hemisphere.
People queued for hours before the release of the apartments, being developed by Redrow, to ensure they are a part of the desirable mixed-use development.
Almost all of the first phase has been sold following an overwhelming demand from prospective home owners, which has seen more than 50 apartments being purchased during the day. The first phase has achieved prices from £158,950 to £241,950, with a mix of owner-occupiers and investors securing their preferred properties within the scheme.
Zoe Reece, Sales and Marketing Manager for Calthorpe Estates commented: “We have been delighted with the response from homebuyers, who are keen to be a part of Edgbaston Mill. The prestigious scheme offers people the best of both worlds, situated within the leafy environment of one of Britain’s largest urban conservation areas but only a mile away from the city centre.
“Edgbaston Mill will become another landmark destination for Birmingham, which will also underpin Edgbaston’s appeal as the best place to live and work.”
The nine-acre development will boast 20,000 sq m of residential space, 3,000 sq m of retail and restaurant space, 6,000 sq m of office space, 3,000 sq m of leisure facilities and a 120 bedroom hotel.
The first phase of the commercial development will start early next year and will focus on the retail, restaurant and leisure units, with further units to follow in later phases.
